These are one of the many reasons why at the CUNY Central Office of Veteran Affairs is teaming up with Thrive NYC to not only raise awareness about mental health/ substance abuse but to get veterans to connect. Thrive NYC will be hosting a free 8-hour course on March 23rd, 2018 for veterans interested in being certified Mental Health Aide. This course will teach you how to approach and identify mental distress symptoms as well as how to counsel those a bit in receiving help.
